I am an experienced Coach and Coaching Psychologist with an evidence-based psychological approach to coaching that builds on academic and accredited qualifications in psychology, cognitive-behavioral coaching and mediation. I have been trained by Professor Stephen Palmer and Dr Siohain O' Riordan in London.
My focus is the present and how to enable my clients to improve their awareness, resilience, performance and psychological, emotional and physical well-being.
I practice an Integrative Cognitive-Behavioural Psychological approach (ICBC) which incorporates the latest research and techniques from Cognitive Behavioural (CBC) and Solution Focused Coaching (SFC), Positive Psychology (PP), Coaching Psychology and Eco-Psychology. I am also using mindfulness techniques to support my clients.
My life always revolved around supporting others to identify their inner resources and strengths to survive or thrive no matter what challenges and circumstances they were facing.
After graduating from St Andrews University with an MA(Hons) in Psychology, I started working in the not for profit sector designing, developing and delivering psychological support services for the most vulnerable populations. I have been privileged for over 14 years to have offered my support to victims of domestic and sexual violence, the elderly, young people with long term health conditions and refugees.
I have been honored to receive a fellowship from the Royal Society of Arts, Commerce and Manufactures for my contribution to the not for profit sector and I am also a Fellow of the Clore Social Leadership and Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My awareness and understanding of human nature and its ability to survive, transcend and thrive, has not only been shaped by my academic studies, accredited training and practice as a Coaching Psychologist but also from working alongside the most marginalized, disadvantaged and vulnerable populations. I have witnessed and learned much from the extraordinary acts of faith, hope and courage people are capable of which has shaped my spirit and practice.
At a personal level I value the principles of Stoicism and Mindfulness. Three of my favorite quotes that reflect my philosophy in life are:
"Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose" Viktor E. Frankl, Psychiatrist
"Sometimes carrying on, just carrying on, is the superhuman achievement" Albert Camus, Writer
"Life is a balance between holding on and letting go" Rumi, Mystic and Poet
